Can A Ceiling Fan Lower My Electric Bill?

You may want to become friends with your ceiling fan this season - well at least put it to good use. They can save you a bunch of money on your energy bills because they use less energy than air conditioning systems, and who doesn’t like a few extra dollars in their wallet?

How does it work? A ceiling fan won’t actually cool the room, but it does have a cooling effect. As the blades spin, air circulates throughout the room which mixes warm air trapped near the ceiling with cooler air found near the ground. This cooling effect can be felt on your body as the air blows across your skin, but make sure to turn the fan off when you are not in the room.

As a result, you’ll be able to turn your thermostat up a few degrees in the warmer months which will help you save energy as your cooling system won’t have to work as hard and as frequently. You’ll be much happier when your next energy bill comes in the mail.

At GEN3 Electric, ceiling fan installation is one of our specialties. We cover everything from indoor/outdoor fans to hi-performance and decorative options so give us a call today at 215-512-4102 to schedule an appointment.
