Thanks a million, Bill, you were exactly right. Everything is working fine! This was my first time to install a GFCI breaker. prior to this DIY project I had used only GFCI receptacles. I am using a Square D panel and Square D GFCI breaker. The neutral lug is below the hot lug on the breaker. I saw the neutral screw, but thought it was holding the pigtail in place.
